Cook Time: 40 min
Serves: 6
Ingredients:
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 pound ground turkey
1 large onion, chopped
2 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp dried oregano leaves, crushed
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 3/4 cups chicken broth
1 cup thick and chunky salsa
1 tbsp sugar
1 (15 ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained
1 (16 ounce) can whole kernel corn, drained
Directions:
- Heat the oil in a 4-quart saucepot over medium-high heat. Add the turkey, onion, chili powder, cumin, oregano, black pepper and garlic powder. Cook until turkey is well browned, stirring often.
- Stir the broth, salsa, sugar, beans and corn in the saucepot and heat to a boil. Reduce the heat to low. Cover and cook for 30 minutes or until mixture is hot and bubbling.
So I am looking to make this for dinner tonight and wondering when you combine the meat mixture with the broth? Is there a step 3 that is missing from the directions?
ReplyDeleteM&M.... From reading the recipe, I think that you start the meat with the spices in a big soup pot and then when it is ready you add the remaining ingredients to the pot. Good luck!! I say give it your best shot and let us know what you did.
